Drought 09:51
I flew here on a leaf It's charisma was enchanting I left the land that bound me And descended here, ever gently I've seen the water flow Pouring from my mountain I thought the stream never-ending But without me it is nothing There are times when she whispers to me And I am too far to hear with ears But my heart is always open This ship is my body I am but a soul The angel of the trees The empty voice in the basket The roots that nourish and bind The wind that flows free of my mind I cast it all into the open air With a ho a ha and a hum And beat my hands against my chest The ever breathing drum With lungs like wings I call I breathe life in and out The water spilling mountainside One day shall run out And my life force shall live on To honor the temporal drought I am all All is me Bend the Earth Bend the Sea

Extinction. 07:42
I see the sky Clouds pass me by Feel the warm light Sight without eyes I see the sky Clouds are passing me by Feeling the warm light Sight without eyes Passing through the other side I become one with the light Giving my heart to the sky Shining through my inner eyes I see the sky Give up my mind Everything dies The seed will thrive Everything's fine

about

The Windsmith comes from a place that I feel within me, a place I often visit in my dreams. A place with endless mountain-scapes, infinite horizons, towering trees, floating islands in the sky, and so many beautiful beings.

The album title was a name given to me by a friend in this dream world. I was a quiet monk, and by rooting my legs into stone, I could make masses of earth float in the sky for all friendly folks to inhabit. For that practice of merging the earth and the sky I was called The Windsmith.

The songs that make up this album are a combination of songs that have come to me fairly effortlessly, and that deeply resonate with me and the world within me.

I'm a musician making the music that feels like love to me. I tend to not care about what genre of music I create, and just focus on what sounds and feels best to me. I'm influenced heavily by post-metal, post-rock, technical/progressive metal, experimental, classical, indie, folk, noise, drone, some electronic, chamber music, basically whatever tickles me the right way ... more
